JURASSIC PARK: 30 YEARS LATER

“Life finds a way.”

That iconic quote graced the surround sound of movie theaters thirty years ago.

Earlier this year Jurassic Park roared back into theaters as part of Flashnack Cinema.  Yours truly was front and center with a popcorn and oversized soft drink.

After thirty years I am still as thrilled to see this movie as I was when I was seven.  There was still excitement as the T-REX roared across his cinematic domain.  I was still on the edge of my seat as the raptors hunted their pray.

What surprisingly holds up are the visual effects. Yes some look like an out dated tv nature documentary but more effects have stood the thirty year test of time.  They are still a visual feast.

Even the score is exciting to listen.  Often the films score is the first part I criticize but this one does what it is suppose to do.  That is support the actors and story as events unfold.  Yes it is cliché to have a thrilling moment like the T-REX create carnage during a thunderstorm but I still loved seeing it on the big screen.

This and the first sequel hold up today.  While I enjoyed the Jurassic World trilogy, they pale in comparison to the original breath taking adventure.
