Nostalgia is a powerful sensation.  It has the power to transport you to a former time in your life while experiencing new memories. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem lit a spark of nostalgia from my childhood.

      I grew up watching the animated show and remember seeing the live action adaptations in the eta when VHS was king.

     This new attempt to create a big screen franchise of the pizza loving teenage heroes was a blast to watch.  It was a mix of a history of pop culture references and modern day messages.  All this done with a voice ensemble second to none. 

    Earlier this year the live action version from 1990 played on the big screen. It holds up well 33 years later. The sense of fun from that 1990 classic is Carrie’s forward to Mutant Mayhem.

    I hope this new franchise continues in the same spirit as the first entry.
