SYNOPSIS: Milton (Ben Kingsley) lives a quiet life of routine in a small western Pennsylvania town, but finds his day upended when a UFO and its extra-terrestrial passenger crash land in his backyard.
A movies’ runtime is an important part of the show. To long, the movie can drag and discourage attendance, to short the film can rush past important plot points. A good movie uses its runtime well.
This is the case of the recent release Jules. The movie is a short ninety minutes. Every one of those minutes is used well. The movie introduces the characters and gets to the point quickly. Then the movie tells a charming coming of age story in a unique way before wrapping it up nicely.
I enjoyed that about the movie. I also enjoyed seeing a coming of age film about folks who are in their golden years instead of teenagers. It created a different perspective for the genre.
The movie is science fiction with equal parts comedy and drama. This created a fun and highly entertaining film to see.
Until next time I will see you at the movies!
