STORYLINE: Americans Hanna and Liv are best friends backpacking in Australia. After they run out of money, Liv, looking for an adventure, convinces Hanna to take a temporary live-in job behind the bar of a pub called ‘The Royal Hotel’ in a remote Outback mining town. Bar owner Billy and a host of locals give the girls a riotous introduction to Down Under drinking culture but soon Hannah and Liv find themselves trapped in an unnerving situation that grows rapidly out of their control.
Has something ever not met your expectations yet are still glad you experienced it? For me that’s how I felt as the lights rose at the end of The Royal Hotel.
The trailer made the film out to be a fun thriller. Yes I was thrilled, at times, with the film but overall I felt underwhelmed with the film as a whole.
The movie felt like it tried to hard to be like a Hitchcock film without its own voice.
Overall I a, glad I went to see The Royal Hotel because I was intrigued by the trailer. But at check out I was ready to leave.
Until next time I will see you at the movies!
