SYNSOPSIS; The true story of the inseparable Von Erich brothers, who made history in the intensely competitive world of professional wrestling in the early 1980s. Through tragedy and triumph, under the shadow of their domineering father and coach, the brothers seek larger-than-life immortality on the biggest stage in sports.

    The studio A24 has released some films over the years that I have really enjoyed.  The 2018 horror film Hereditary, 2022’z Marcell the Shell withheld Shoes on, as as the 2023 releases Priscilla and Dream Scenario.  Can you imagine my  when I got to attend an advance s screening of their latest movie, the wrestling biopic The Iron Claw?

     Overall I admit I enjoyed the movie, I did not love it the way I did others I have seen this year, on general or from A24 like the previously mentioned Dream Scenario and Priscilla.  The Iron Claw was a well crafted and well acted movie but at times seemed to be emotionally hijacking the viewer.  That is one of my biggest pet peeves when films do over pull at the views heart strings. I finds insulting personally.  I am a reasonably smart individual who can figure out how feel in that given moment on my own.

   The Iron Claw did start with a few nice comedic family moments but I wish they lasted out the movie. 

    If you are interested in true story wrestling movies see this one but first see the other 2023 release Cassandro from Amazon.  I found it to be the more interesting   Of the two movies.
