STORYLINE: With dreams of opening a shop in a city renowned for its chocolate, a young and poor Willy Wonka discovers that the industry is run by a cartel of greedy chocolatiers.
It is hard to replace an iconic actor in an iconic role. When it works it works it works neauifully. For instance Sean Connery once played James Bond but so did Daniel Craig and I loved them both in the role.
I adored Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka in 1971’s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Favtory. When I read that a prequel was being made with Timothee Chalamet in the Willy Wonka role was going to light up the silver screen I hesitated. Mai my for my enjoyment of the original film.
After seeing the trailer for Wonka I started to come around. Come around I did.
The two hour movie was not the greastest movie I have ever seen but I was still very entertained watching Wonka. Honestly that was my extraction as the house lights dimmed for the glow of the protector lights filling the silver screen. Timothee Chaalamet even did well in the Willy Wonka role. He did have some big shoes to fill.
Until next time I will see you at the movies!
