ALL DIRT ROADS TASTE OF SALT (2023, Indy film)

STORYLINE: A lyrical, decades-spanning exploration across a woman’s life in Mississippi, the feature debut from award-winning poet, photographer and filmmaker Raven Jackson is a haunting and richly layered portrait, a beautiful ode to the generations of people and places that shape us.

Not all movies feature lavish musical numbers or over the top action sequences. Many are small budget indy films that are, in many ways just as worth seeing.

While the story of All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt left me longing for more the film was beautiful to view.  Every shot was composed with care and grave.  It was a visual feast to watch.

I did feel I had seen the premise of the film better in films such as Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012).

Beyond championing the theater going experience I recommend seeing All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt on the biggest screen possible to enjoy the artistry of the scenes on the big screen.

Until next time I will see you at the movies!
