January 23: 2924 at 8:39 am some news broke.  No, it has nothing to to with the primary process. The nominations for the 96th Annual Academy Awards were announced.  For those who do not know the Oscars are what I look forward to more  than anything all year.    This morning excited me.

    I am thrilled that Oppenheimer led the pack with rge most nominations with 13.  I am a huge fan of this movie. Other movies I throughly enjoyed that fIf well were Killers of the FlowerMoon and Poor Things. 

    I have been saying for months that supporting actor will be a battle of the Roberts. Downey Jr for Oppenheimer and Denirro for Killers of the Flower Moon and I like being rigjt. 

    Let’s talk about Barbie. Ugh. I did not like the movie but others did and I can see why and with 8 nominations I saw this inevitability coming.

    I would love to see American Ficrion star Jeffrey Wright win best actor. I loved his performance and love him as an actor. 

     Some snubs for me were Penelope Cruz for Ferrari, Cailee Spaeny in Priscilla, Asteroid City for original screenplay, and Ferrari for its makeup.
