STORYLINE: In a remote Irish village, a damaged father is forced to fight for redemption after a lifetime of sins, but what price is he willing to pay? In the land of saints and sinners, some sins can’t be buried.

     Over the years I have turned into a Liam Neeson fan.  Yes Schindler’s Lisr is a moving film featuring a well deserved Oscar nominated performance from the actor. I like the darker side of Liam Neeson, the action side.i like the thrills of the Taken trilogy, the espionage behind Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House, and the intensity of his latest release In the Land of Saints and Sinners.

   The film is set in 1970’s Ireland with all the troubles and violence the time period brings. Of course Liam Neeson shines as his typical man who knows how to get things done.  

    The thrills come as he does the right thing and those villains he wrongs come after him. Liam Neeson plays no saint in this film but the morality of the film’s premise is for another discussion. The premise of the film sets up an intense scenario that is delivered on by performances from a talented cast and under the guidance of director Robert Lorenz (The Marksman, The Trouble with the Curve).

    In the Land of Saints and Sinners cinematography had a very gritty look to it.  That enhanced the feel of intensify throughout the movie.   

   It was good seeing this thriller on the big screen to get the full  thrills.
