STORYLINE: Lifelong friends Eden and Dawn, one single and wanting a baby, the other already a mother, navigate challenges to their bond when Eden pursues pregnancy alone after a one-night stand.
I was drawn to see Babes because the trailer looked amusing. The movie did not look like the kind of movie that would be profoundly thought provoking, just entertaining.
105 minutes of runtime, after trailers ended I was more then entertained. I do not recall the last time I laughed like that at a movie. I laughed from start to finish.
Babes since of humor created its strong R rating. Yes this is a filthy comedy. It proved that the women can be just as potty mouthed and funny with that language as the comedians that used it so well like Richard Pryor.
The heart of the movie is not the filthy humor but a lifelong friendship. The movie makes many strong points abound the importance of friends up through the eyes of the two women, whose story is told.
Yes it’s filthy. Yes I laughed hard at it. Yes I need to see it again because I missed parts of the movie because I was laughing at the previous part of the movie. Yes this is a smaller film and those are important to see as well as the big blockbusters, especially in theaters.
Until next time I will see you at the movies!
