    The fascination woth Touch is not the cookie cutter love story.  The interracial love story has been told in many films preceding it.  The fascination with Touch is placing the characters in two distinct points in human history.  

    The first is the survivors of the Hiroshima bomb.  The second is the on set of the Covid pandemic.  

    Setting a love story where one of the star cross lovers is a child survivor of the Hiroshima bomb sets up for the potential to over pull at the heart strings, which is a pet peeve of mine.  The film balances the line and creates a great character. 

    Touch intertwines the two time periods.   Comparing the onset of Covid to post dropping of the atom bomb is what elevates the movie from just a love story that has been told before into a film that is that is thought provoking.
