Life if complicated. Growing up is difficult. Family and culture don’t make it easy. Add all this together and you get the 2024 release Didi, the little film that should.
This Indy film takes on a varrety of issues head on. The issues range from family, puppetry, friendship, young love, and heritage. The film gives each subject and others, their dues, and dies so well. Didi makes rack point with out being a preachy movie and is still an entertaining movie. That is a rarity.
The film also has a lot of charm. That hinges mainly in the interaction between the family members. The script does a great job of balancing comedic moments with the dramatic and sprinkling in some heartfelt scenes.
I was not sure what I was expecting when I sat down to watch this film but not this high caliber of a film.
Until next time I will see you at the movies !
