BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE (2024)

STORYLINE: After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem. (IMDb)

It has been thirty six years since Beetlejuice first lit up the silver screen. I was skeptical going into the sequel. The first Beetlejuice is one of the most fun movies to watch and sequels often suffer a sophomore slump, especially after such along gap between entries.

Thus is not the case with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.  It is just as wild and entertaining movie its predecessor.   A lot of that ia credited to the return of Micheal Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, and creator Tim Burton.  All of these natural elements combined are the heart and soul of of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

The addition of Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci, and Willem Dafeo added an extra element of fun to the movie.  All three seemed to be having a blast in their individual role.

The movie hit the correct balance of recognizing the original material yet decreasing its own material.  This is a trick balance to di when the original movie is so beloved.

The sequel was well worth the wait. With all that said BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE.

Until next time I will see you at the movies!
