     Why was Oppenheimer the first time Cillian Murphy’s name called on the Oscar stage?  Through a diverse career that seamlessly goes between big blockbuster films and small independent features he has crafted masterful performances.  In Gus latest releases, Small Things like These, Cillian Murphy does it again with his character Bill Furlong.

    Based on the synsopsis at the start of the blog the film holds secrets, rest assured giving spoilers are not my style. However giving my opinion on the plot is my style.  

    I found the film to have a slow burn to it and when that is an,r to be pulled off successfully it works beautifully. In Small Things Like These the slow burn creates a piercing sense of  tension.  

   When giving information to the viewer, the film gives it in a slow drip.  I found this approach fitting, like a jigsaw puzzle.  This was a mystery movie of sorts abd that seemed fitting.

    Overall a movie well worth the runtime especially to watch Cillian Murphy’s masterful performance.
