    Sequels fall into three very distinct categories.  The first, and most frequent, is the sequel slump.  The first film often sets a high standard and the sequel(s) fall short of that mark.  These are the most common kind of sequels in my mind.  The second category is the sequel is just as good as its predecessor.  I see these sequels with a fair amount of frequency. Then there is the rarest of sequels and that is where the sequel is a better then its predecessor.  Paddington in Peru falls in the middle of the three categories. 

    Like the first two films in the trilogy, Paddington in Peru is a fun and mindless film.  I am sure if I was the target audience the film would be just fun and not fun and mindless.

    That raises the question why do I not have to be tge target audience to enjoy the movie?  Kids films should not be held to a lower standard because they are made fir a younger audience.  Kids are intelligent people who are capable of comprehending complex films.  I have made this long before though in a previous blog though.

   I enhkyed Paddington in Peru, I just wish, as a film for children, is was a bit more then mindless entertainment.
