   If big blockbuster films are cinenatic entrées then independent films are the spices of cinema.  Indy films can range from  charming, sappy, horrifying, comedic, dramatic, to romantic and everything between.  To put mildly they are spicy. The Ballad of Wallis Island is a bit charming mixed with some sappy and has a lot of comedeic moments blended into the mix. 

   I was expecting  an odd kind of bromance when I assumed my seat for The Ballad of Wallis Island. In part, the movie was just that. The other part was about self discovery from the central charecters. All of which was sappy and predictable but never crossed that line to insulting my intelligence. 

     With no spoilers not every storyline ended in a nice niw. That is what prevented the film from crossing that line into the territory of insulting my jntelligence. Good for the filmmakers for doing so thete. 

   At the center of the film was music. The music worked and was decent. It had to be though for the film to work.  

    The Ballad of Wallis Islabd blended many cinematic spices for an entertaining feature film,
