STORYLINE: A suburban dad falls hard for his charismatic new neighbor.  (IMDb) 

    I think the storyline from IMDb doesn’t fully captures the plot of the film, Friendship.  Nor does the trailer accurately capture the spirit of the film. I get that that though. It’s a hard film to summarize without getting into spoilers. As for the adversitising campaign cringe humor can be difficult to advertise. Combine it with the ackwatd story of Friebdship and I get why the trailer imitally came across as creepy film instead as a comedy. 

    There were many moments throughout the film I found myself laughing out loud.  There were many moments that also made me think what the hell?  It was an odd combination that worked well. 

    There’s a lot beyond the cringe humor at work in Friebdship.  The film works into its story themes of loneliness, obsession, social stigma, and the difficulties glong after what you want in life. That’s a lot to chew for a comedy but a good comedy can weave strong themes into its story well, like Friebdship did.

    I really enjoyed this movie and come the end of the year this will be a strong contender for my top tem lost of 2025.  I laughed out alot, which is rare in comedies today,.  It made me think some with moments that made me go huh?  A.l that while being ackward. Time will tell if I put it on my top ten list but regardless I still enjoyed this film.
