STORYLINE: A lonely Hawaiian girl befriends a runaway alien, helping to mend her fragmented family. (IMDb). 

    Somewhere deep down there is a child like version of myself.  Imagine a younger but still just as adorable version of the Will you all have come to know and love.  That version of myself is what drives the excitnent for releases such as Disney’s Lilo & Stitch live action adaptation.   After all I still throughly enjoy the 2002 animated hit. 

    With a trailer that entertained me throughly and an expectation that this remake won’t be the original I enjoy throughly I got my ticket to the multiplex I attend regularly.  After getting my regular concessions order, by the way they now have my favorite movie theater candy on their menu, oh the occasional additional calorie infusion goodness, and made my way to my normal seat. 

   I came out entertained but not as much as I wanted to be. I was disappointed by the removal of my favorite storyline from the 2002 version, Stitch’s love of Elvis music. 

    The other disappointment for me is the film committed one of the biggest sins of cinena for ne.  It was over sentimental and insult in my intelligence with that.  Disney tends to be over sentimental with their films anyway but I felt that with Lilo & Stitch they took it a bit to far. 

   There were moments that were entertaining in the film. They went back abd forth between funny and charming. One abs two were even exciting. All, of course, endulged that younger but still just as adorable version of myself. 

    This is why o set an expectation that the 2025 Lilo & Stitch was not going to be the 2002 Lilo & Stitch. I still was entertained nut not to the level of the original.
