THE LIFE OF CHUCK (2025)

STORYLINE: A life-affirming, genre-bending story based on Stephen King’s novella about three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz.  (IMDb)

When watching movies based on the works of Stephen King I expect to be watching a horror movie.  The 1980 adaption of The Shining remains my favorite adaptation from the works of the horror genius. However this mind is responsible for the works that eventually brought films such as Stabd by Me (1985) and The Shawshank Redemption (1994) to the silver screen.  Continuing this tradition of films based on the works of Stephen King that fall out of the horror purview comes The Life of Chuck.

I am in love with films that tell their stories in a nom traditional fornst. I find it to be more original and spices up my movie going experience. The Life of Chuck is just that kind of film, much like Christopher Nolan’s 2000 feature Memento.

The Life of Chuck is told in three unique parts, that tell an over coaching story. If you blink you will miss some minor connections to the other stories embedded in each stories. I loved how subtle each connection was.

I what makes this film stand out fir me is that it is it is not a sequel orvtenaje in a season of sequels or renames. I keep harping in this point. While I enjoy the spectacle of summer sequels and remakes, in fact I am really looking forward to the zombie feature 28 Years Later, I think there should be more original stories that feature en ensembles. Shrike The Life of Chuck is based of already published material it is a non sequel or rename with an ensemble. Another aspect of this film I throughly enjoyed.

For the long summer days I enjoyed my concession order, sitting in the air condition watching this feature presentation.

Until next time I will see you at the movies!
