I grew up in the VHS era of classic Disbey animation. I remember the theatrical release of the animated classic The Lion King. When How to Train Your Dragon flew into theaters fifteen years ago, I had aged out of the target demographic. Still I was drawn into to lure the animated film offered. I was wildly entertained by the film. Now Dreamworks has jumped on the live action rename train with How to Train Your Dragon.
It’s hard for lightning to strike twice. Whike it struck for the original How to Train Your Dragon it flashed but did not strike with the 2025 release. I guess what I am trying to say is ths release was fine when it came to entertaining me but didn’t live up to the original.
Though it is rare for remakes to live up to the original, John Carpenter’s The Thing exceeding the original is the prone example of that rarity.
The CGI fell short for me. I while the dragons looked fine when they were on there own. It was when they shared space with their human counterparts that the images seemed ackward.
Well now that Dreamworjs is now in the live action rename train I am curious how long until Shrek gets such treatment? Anyways I had fun indulging myself at the movies while watching How to Train Your Dragon.
Until next time Ineill see you at the movies!
