DEPECHE MODE M (2025 – Concert Film)

STORYLINE: Concert film weaves Depeche Mode’s 2023 Mexico City performances with segments examining music, mortality, and Mexican death traditions. (IMDb)

I don’t really care much for live events, such as concerts.  I care even less for concert films.  I am not that familiar with the band Depeche Mode.  Why go see their concert film?  Taking advantage of movie theater amenities such as surround sound appeals to me.  The insert interviews of Mexican traditions intrigued me.

I didn’t care for the music.  I prefer the music of Jimmy Buffet or Lady Gaga.  However, I really enjoyed the concert experience from the comfort of the movie theater. This wasn’t the Eras Tour film concert that Taylor Swift put out a few years back. I didn’t have to put up with the fan fare participating in the theater, like you would at a live show. This was a movie, and I got to watch it as a movie.

I was fascinated by the Mexican culture aspects that were featured throughout the film.  I got to get to know another part of the world, by going just around the corner, to my local movie theater. That is the power of film.

Depeche Mode K was a concert film, with music I didn’t really care for, but interesting interviews interested thoughout the film.

Until next time I will see you at the movies!
