    What is the common thread in the movies It was Just an Accident, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, and The Secret Agent?  They are all nominated for international feature film, at the upcoming Academy Awards. Rounding out the category is The Voice of Hind Rajab.

   There are many ways to put an audience member on the edge of their seat.  Some films go for scares, while others go for adrenaline filled action sequences.  The Voice of Hind Rajab is neither a horror flick, or an action feature, instead it is a thrilling drama.  It introduces its tension through a  horrifying, real world scenario, as its story, and then shows the panic to resolve it.  

   The film takes its time, avoids unnecessary panic, and focuses on the story as it unfolds to resolve the situation. There is a slow burn tension throughout the movie. The thrills come naturally, from start to finish. 

   With an eighty nine minute runtime, there is no time to waste. This means that The Voice of Hind Rajab wastes no time putting the viewer into the story.  With no washed tine, there is no padding in the story, it’s straight forward.  I appreciated that.

    The Voice of Hind Rajab is an Oscar nominated, international feature, with a natural since of suspense to its story.
