Does me eating a bowl of cereal make me a serial killer? Ok joking aside there is a new film, titled Psycho Killer, that follows the hunt for a serial killer. Films such as Manhunter (1986), Se7en (1995) and 2007’s Zodiac that follow the hunt for serial killers, as well.
Psycho Killer is a textbook genre picture. The film shows a murder, not the first of this killer, and then proceeds to follow a law enforcement officer in the pursuit of the killer. There are the normal twists and turns, featured in a suspense filled serial killer movie. As per the norm the killer is a ruthless one, and the law enforcement iffucer is a passionate in her pursuit, Psycho Killer also features relevant themes to today’s times.
Psycho Killer crafts itself as an enjoyable slasher film. It’s not to gruesome in its kills. They are spaced far enough apart from one another so not to be over done. They’re also not torture enough so they’re not torture porn. They are however, creative enough to be entertaining.
Psycho Killer comfortably at the crossroads of a slasher film and serial killer flick. At this crossroads is an entertaining feature film,
Until next time o will see you at the movies!
