STORYLINE: The new installment in the Monsterverse puts the mighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal deadly threat hidden within our world that threatens the existence of their species and our very own, as well as diving deep into the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond. Delving straight into the origins of Hollow Earth, this film will explore the ancient Titan battle that brought man and monster together forever.  (IMDb) 

     Monster movies, such as the classic Godzilla(1954), King Kong (1933), amd yes King Kong v Godzilla (1968), hold a special place in my celluloid filled heart. How exciting it is for me to have a CGI filled release in 202q Godzilla v Kong and now in 2024 a CGI filled sequel Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

    This is a true popcorn flick. The viewer sits back with their bucket op popcorn and beverage of choice, in my case an over sized caffeinated soft drink in case you were curious, and let the glow of the silver silver engulf you.  Popcorn flicks tend not to have much of a plot to follow but that plot is highly entertaining.  The viewer leaves the movie theater highly entertained and pleased with the experience that was presented before them.  These films are not masterpieces like The Godfather or Zero Dark Thirty, they are just fun.  Popcorn flick are simply fun.  This is exactly the case for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. That was exactly what I wanted out of the feature when I sat down to watch.

     I enjoyed the hokey, unrealistic science.  I enjoyed the over the top acting.  I enjoyed the massive amounts of CGI.  Most importantly I enjoyed watching the monsters battle one another. 

     I am looking forward to more movies in this monster verse.
