 Movies about artificial intelligence come in all different shapes and sizes.  There is the brilliance of A. I. Artificial Intelligence (2001) and Ex Machina (2014).  There are the thrills and excitement of Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991).  Also there is the fun of The Wild Robot (2024).    2025’s release Companion is just awful.  

    The murder for money premise has been done countless times before abd done countless tine better.  The something goes wrong at an isolated location premise has been done countless times before and been done countless times better before. So combining those to factors with bad writing and subpar acting, it is a mix for a bad movie.

     The movie got a bit uncomfortable in how the lead character interacted with his robot. The robot character was designed to be subservient to to the central character in the film, as is typical in films with artificial intelligence.  What crossed the comfort line for me was how the artificial intelligence were designed to be love interests, for companionship, and you can draw your own conclusions from there.  

    Anyways not every film can be a winner like the films mentioned at the start of this blog.
