WHY CINEMAS ARE IMPORTANT

Let’s start with the obvious to get that out of the way first. There is an economic component to movie theaters. They draw revenue.  The big chains to it nation wide while the independent theaters directly give your local communities an economic boost.

Countless individuals, in all stages of life and from all backgrounds, are employed at cinemas across America.  Whether this is a first job, career, or part time employment many folks draw a paycheck from the theater industry. This is a central part of our economy.

Theaters are an outlet for creative expression. Artists bring their vision to life and to the public here.  A different kind of movie will bring information to inform the public while others bring different world views into people’s lives.

Cinemas are a place to bring people together to share a common interest.  For a few hours friends and strangers gather together to laugh, to be scared, or to cry.

I personally have had many incredible afternoon and nights with friends and family at the movies. Midnight showings, horror matinees where we the only ones in the theater, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show just  to name a few.   These memories are treasured times in my life and were all at movie theaters.

Another important aspect of cinemas are friendships forged because of movie theaters. I have met folks I can not imagine my life without because I have gone to the theaters. You can’t take that away from me.  Same can be said for those treasured memories.

So support movies theaters, local and the chains.  Go with friends and make new ones there.  Who knows hopefully you will see me there!

Until next time o will see you at the movies!
