   What’s the saying ‘I fought the law, and the law won’?  Wyatt Earp and his band of immortals proved it out west in Tombstibe (1993).  Detective Callahan won the day for law enforcement in Dirty Harry (1971).  In the Heat of the Night (1967), Mr Tibbs, was victorious, in his quest for law-enforcement.  The gang returns to the scene of the comedic crime, for the 2026 cop comedy Super Troopers 3.

    The mindset, it seems, the majority of sequels take is, if it’s not broken why fix it?  I get it.  Audiences paid to see something the first time, so wgy wouldn’t they pay to see it again?  That’s why the majority of the MCU films follow the same formula, and it works. I am a 007 fan.  The formula in that franchise, clearly, works well for me.

    Super Troopers 3 is a rinse and repeat of the two proceeding features.  The basic story is the same, and all the characters that fans love return. The humor is the same, with many of the jokes recycled.  That’s what fans of the first two features enjoyed.  

    The simplicity, it seems, isn’t the spacing out of the the trilogy. The first film was released on 2001, and the second entry in 2018.  This spacing gives each film time to earn individual cult status, and audiences time to want to see something a bit fresh. 

   For fans of the first two Super Troopers features, the third falls in line with more of the same.  Much like the first two motion pictures, I enjoyed bits and pieces, but was ready for to get up out of my seat twenty minutes from the end.  

   Super Troopers 3 os a true sequel, in that it is a carbon copy pf iys predecessors.  It was a bit worn out by the end, with a few moments of recycled, enjoyment, throughout.
