THE CHRISTOPHERS (2026)

STORYLINE: The children of a once famous artist hire a forger to complete some unfinished, long ago abandoned canvases so they’ll have an inheritance when he dies. (IMDb)

Movies, writing, paintings, and music are all a form of art. The documentary Art and Craft (2014), the biopic Maudie (2014), and the international drama Portrait of a Lady on Fire are all feature films about the painting side of art.  With a few brush strokes, The Christophers, is the newest motion picture about art and artists.

As previously mentioned art films come in the dramatic, documentary, and biopic variety.  The Christophers is the dramatic kind of feature. It’s has family dynamics, personal drama, past drama, lost love, and aging all wrapped into into one feature.

This time of year, the calm before the summer blockbuster season, tend to be a mixed bag of movies.  They are either bad or mediocre.  The Christophers is a break from that norm, as a stand out motion picture.

What makes this movie stand that one?  The the characters and their various motives create a set up for a classic heist movie. Instead The Christophers is an interpersonal drama that weaves together the lives and motives of a variety of different characters.

The Christophers is a new art drama that is a goo watch I’m a time when there are films that tend to be mediocre.

Until next time, I will see you at the movies!
