   It was 1993, when Jurassic Park, that brought dinosaurs back from extinction.  Will Ferrell journeyed to the Land of the Lost, I’m 2009.  In 1988, Littlefoot took viewers through The Land Before Time.  Dinosaurs are once again, alive and well, in the new feature The End of Oak Street.

    Let me start by saying, Anne Hathaway is the 2026 summer queen, of the cineplex.  She kicked things off with The Devil Wears Prada 2, kicked it into over drive with The Odyssey, and once again, is lighting up screens, with yeh another blockbuster. 

    With that said, The End of Oak Street, is a silly concept.  The short version is, a neighborhood is mysteriously transported to a dimension with dinosaurs, and the family, at the heart of the film, must survive figure out how to survive.  The End of Oak Street is the Jurassic Park version of an episode of The Twilight Zone.  It just happens to be spread over 99 minutes.

    The End of Oak Street is a text book, big budget, summer spectacle. There are no twists and turns in the plot, it’s straight forward. The movie is anchored by two celebrities. In addition to Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor has a lead role. Being a dinosaur flick, there CGI effects throughout.  The effects are mediocre, though, especially compared to other films released this year.   They are those are a cheesy, monster movie. That’s basically what this movie is.

   The End of Oak Street is a fun watch.  It’s loud, a bit to loud at times.  It is a one and done watch, for me. I don’t think I will get any further enjoyment out of it, then what I did. I’m content with that.  After all, there are other, better dinosaur movies I can sink mu teeth into over and over again. 

   This is a text book summer spectacle, straight forward story, big spectacle effects, and anchored by two celebrities. It is a fun one and done watch.
