    In 2019, Charlie Brown and the gang leapt onto the big screen in The Peanuts Movie.  Kermit the Frog brought his friends with him, to the silver screen, for multiple adventures, but for the first time was in The Muppet Movie (1979).  The Looney Tunes crew have appeared many times on the big screen, with such movies as Space Jam (1996) and Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003). Tom and Jerry are back in the movies, in Tom and Jerry: Forbidden Compass.

    Over the years, many television movies, with the dynamic duo have become available for audiences, to enjoy. In 2021, Tom and Jerry, entered both the real world, and cinenas, in the highly entertaining movie Tom and Jerry.  This was a hybrid, live action in animated motion picture.  Tom and Jerry: Forbidden Compass, is a theatrical feature, that is a return to form, and a fully animated motion picture. 

    The Tom and Jerry characters have the classic animated style, that they’ve always had, instead of a CGI interpretation.  It attempts to give the movie a feel of nostalgia. In this rest the movie fails, because the rest of the animation looks rushed, and gives the movie an amateur look.

    The story, ok what story?  The plot is pretty much thinly, shoe stringed together.  Mainly the story is there as an excuse for Tom and Jerry shenanigans.  They are eye rolling unentertaining. 

    There is an argument, for my lack of enjoyment of Tom and Jerry: Forbidden Compass, that I have aged out of Tom and Jerry.  With releases such as Coyote vs Acme and Toy Story 5, from earlier this year, which I throughly enjoyed, I would argue I can still enjoy movies for all ages, no matter my age. Tom and Jerry: Forbidden Compass is just a bad movie. 

    Tom and Jerry: Forbidden Compass is a poorly animated, unfunny Tom and Jerry theatrical motion picture.
