   After the events in Rocky Horror, Brad and Janet returned home to find their home town turned into a bizarre television studio in Shock Treatment (1981).  Believe it or not, there is a Rovy Horror Pictyre Show sequel. The terror of Halloween masks was spread through commercials in Halloween III: Seasom of the Witch (1982).   In 2002, a haunted videotape circulated among viewers in The Ring.  Buddy, is on the airwaves, and projecting on the silver screen now,

    Movies and television have a symbiotic relationship. Movies play on TV all the time. Adaptations go back-and-forth.  MASH was adapted into a widely successful television show.  Many Addams Family features have made their way into cinenas, after the TV show found success.  So, why not incorporate TV as a major plot point?  The new horror film, Buddy,  does just that.

     The horror flick minimizes jump, scares, using them sparingly throughout movie.  Instead, it creates a creepy, uncomfortable sincere ld dread to scare audiences. It mice’s this, with a bit of shiva value. Unlike the Saw and Hostile franchisees, the shock value is part of the film to propel the story forward and not in the for the sake of being in the film.  It is there to support the story. 

    Buddy, doesn’t try to be more then a run of the mill horror feature. What ends up happening, is the movie becomes a fun B rated flick.  

   There has been a string of motion pictures that characters, such as Winnie the Pooh and Bambi, and make horror films with them.  Buddy feels like an unofficial version of that with Barney.  The difference between this movie, and those, is I enjoyed watching this one.  

    Buddy is a widely entertaining B horror feature, set in a children’s tv show. Sure, it has a mimevts or two, of spicy vakue built into it, but it’s still an entertaining secobd rates horror flick.
