   This spring Anne Hathaway starred in Mother Mary.  A few short weeks later, she co-starred in The Devil Wears Prada 2, as the summer blockbuster season started.  In July, The Odyssey was released, where she once again graced the silver screen.  As the summer season ended, Anne Hathaway, once again starred in a film, when The End of Oak St was released. 2026 is rapidly becoming the year of Anne Hathaway, and with the release of the new motion picture, Verity, she continues to be on a roll with releases. 

     Many feature films are about authors.  Adaptation (2002), Cappte (2006), and American Fiction (2023) are all unique movies about writers.  This addition to being fantastic movies.  Verity, featuring authors as its characters, is a thrilling motion picture.  

    Verity delivers on the thrills.  It’s not a horror, but it features the occasional jump, scare, that one would find in a horror flick.   The thriller never hord for shock value, instead relying on a naturally eerie story to get its thrills and chills.

    I never read the book, that was the basis for this motion picture.  That’s not out of the norm.  There was a time when I did, read books for films I was excited to see, and return to source material after I throughly enjoyed a movie.  I found it intruded, on my enjoyment of the film.  So it’s something o stopped doing.  Because of that, and how much  I enjoyed Verity, I will not go read the book.  I do have an open mind about it being a good book.  Part of the point, is I am a film guy. 

   Verity, is the latest film that Anne Hathaway has starred in, this calendar year.  It is a thrilling motion picture to watch.
