  In 1977, the car chase was on in Smokey and the Bandit,  In The Cannonball Run (1981), there was a race across the country.  A cross country trucker protest, hit the road in the motion picture Convoy (1978).  Nicolas Cage took to the streets, to steal cars in Gone in 60 Seconds (2000).  The new Liam Neeson thriller, The Mongoose, has driven into theaters.

  Taken was released in theaters, in 2008.  It launched Liam Neeson as an action star.  The Mongoose is another action flick, on the actors resume.

The action throughout, The Mongoose, is a high speed, multi state  car chase, with Liam Neeson behind the wheel.  The action thrills are spread evenly, throughout the 97 minute feature.

The action is broken up with a cookie cutter, a bit over dramatic,  A-Team like storyline.  After all, you can’t just have a random car chase happen, as a movie, can you?

  The Mongoose is a pure popcorn flick. Its a bit to easy to get caught up in the ridiculousness of the movie.  With this one, you simply sit back, and, yes the following pun is intended, enjoy the ride.

  The Mongoose is a fun, action movie with the thrills of recent Liam Neeson action features. It won’t win awards, but it doesn’t try to.
