Once upon a film watch, movie goers wondered Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (1988). Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny played an out of this world basketball game, in Space Jam (1996). Peter Rabbit was hoping around the silver screen, with his real life counterparts, in the 2018 future film Peter Rabbit. Coyote vs Acme, inspired by the classic Looney Tunes characters, is the latest film to feature both the animated and live characters, to arrive in cinemas.
Growing up, I enjoyed watching the classic Looney Tunes cartoons. The Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner segments always tended to be my favorite. There was a visual, slapstick element that appealed tome. It was like o was watching a cartoon version of The Three Stooges.
Coyote vs Acme, features a those classic visual elements, as the film puts the Roadrunner on the back burner, and focuses its story on Coyote. The gags are the fun filled gags, that fans of the show will remember.
A new generation of film goers, uninitiated with Looney Tunes, will learn pretty quickly the back story of the Coyote and Roadrunner. It is a central element, motion picture. Much like the back story, Coyote vs Acme is filled with Looney Tunes nostalgia, as characters from the show appear in various roles throughout the movie.
Coyote vs Acme is not just Looney Tunes nostolgia, but a fun spoof of legal thrillers. Imagine a Looney Tunes version of a John Grisham novel.
