STORYLINE:  Friends on a late-night food run become trapped on an infinite highway with otherworldly terrors lurking beyond. Confined in their Jeep Cherokee, they must decide whether to accept their fate or attempt escape.  (IMDb)

    In Death Proof (2008), the Quentin Tarantino feature, in the double feature Grindhouse, had Kurt Russell stalking the streets. Stacy Keach and Jamie Lee Curtis were playing deadly games with a truck driver, in Road Games (1981).  It was a road trip gone wrong, for a group of friends, in the immortal horror feature The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974).  It Ends, a new road trip horror movie, has driven into theaters. 

    Road trip movies are all over the map, as they appear in multiple genres. Some are comedic, such as the Tom Green notion picture Road Trip (2000).  Thelma & Louise, from 1991, drives into the dramatic territory. There is a long history of frightening events happening on the road. This is where It Ends falls, on the cinenatic map.

    The feature sprinkles a few jump scares throughout the ninety minutes, that make up the runtime. These scares can be seen a mile away, and fall flat.   

    The movie, instead, attempts to be a psychological horror, film.  It Ends fails, massively, on this point.  To be any kind of psychological movie, the characters must be developed and interesting.  It Ends, has characters that are neither. They are cardboard characters, going through, what ends up being an uninteresting situation. 

    It Ends quickly became repetitive, with the four characters whining about the circumstances, in which they find themselves.  

   Because of this I found I found myself bored about a third of the way through the feature.  At this point, I was still enjoying popcorn, which was more interesting. 

    It Ends was a repetitive, boring road trip horror.
